The Honda Pilot release date is Monday, December 12, which means dealers will finally be able to sell

the new, larger and more powerful Pilot. Honda has redesigned many of its new SUVs for the 2023 model year

including the small HR-V, midsize CR-V and large Pilot. While the HR-V and CR-V rely on efficiency and hybrid technology to sell

the 2023 Pilot has gone in a different direction with a larger footprint and more power.

The new Honda Pilot SUV should be available at dealers on Monday, December 12, according to Honda.

he new Pilot is Honda's salvo into the modern world of large off-road ready SUVs

While big American SUVs like the Chevy Tahoe or the Ford Explorer have been prepared for years almost to the ground

the Pilot has always been seen as more capable of dealing with the bad streets of the local suburbs.

Pilot 2023's new style and abilities could change that perspective.

Honda is debuting a new 3.5-liter V6 engine in the Pilot, which will be paired with a new 10-speed transmission to keep the power flowing.

While it falls short of the mileage of smaller SUVs like the CR-V, at 19 city and 22 highway

the V6 puts out slightly more power than the V6s in the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride with similar mpg ratings.

Destination charges are $1,295, and all-wheel drive is a $2,100 option on all trims.

While Honda is taking a page out of Toyota's playbook, adding a special HPD version with decals and fender flares, this is just an appearance package.
