Watch Rivian R1S Tow 5,000 Pounds: How Much Range Will It Lose?

The expectation was that the R1S electric 3-row SUV would lose plenty of range due to the weight, but it fared quite well.

The brand-new Rivian R1S SUV recently underwent a towing range and efficiency test with the Fast Lane Car.

Like us, the newspaper anticipated that pulling a cargo would significantly reduce the range of the big, heavy electric car.

Even though it lost a lot of mileage, it performed better than many could have anticipated.

The Rivian R1S is a brand-new three-row electric SUV that resembles its sister,

the R1T electric pickup truck, which was initially shown to consumers by the up-and-coming carmaker Rivian.

There have been several range and towing tests conducted on the R1T and  ...

other electric trucks like the Ford F-150 Lightning, but the more recent R1S has received less attention.

They pull 5,000 pounds with the R1S in this specific video,

which was created and broadcast by the TFLEV YouTube channel of the Fast Lane Car network,

in order to determine how much range it would have for people towing in the real world.
