After the original Ford Mustang became an overnight success

two other major American automakers tried to bring their own take on the pony car formula.

The first to come after the Mustang was the Chevrolet Camaro in 1967.

A name that certainly has an interesting history and this car went on to write its own success story

with many considering the original one of the best muscle cars ever.

cars at all. Even though Chevrolet is about to retire the Camaro, or at least turn it into an EV sub-brand

the Camaro lives on in the hearts of many muscle car enthusiasts.

The Camaro experienced some turbulence during its lifetime, especially when the oil crisis hit, but arguably returned to form in the 1980s

Still, the 1979 Camaro remains the best-selling year for the iconic muscle car. While the 1983 Chevrolet Camaro didn't get as much love as some of the other generations

it's still an awesome muscle car and definitely a modern performance car

We couldn't help but wonder what the 1983 Camaro would look like given a restomod treatment

so we turned to digital artist Rostislav Prokop to tell us what it might look like.

We also spoke with Rostislav about the inspiration, creative process and details of this render.

Some of Prokop's works have already come to life before and he would like to see them as a restomod limited edition building. We are with him in this.
