Although the manufacture of the cheapest Tesla Cybertruck is being delayed, Tesla as a whole is continuing.

The manufacturer is also making progress on a different project. 

In an automotive tug-of-war, Tesla very intentionally pitted its truck against the Ford F-150

but it turns out that the Cybertruck won't actually be a direct rival to the F-150.

According to a letter Tesla sent to the California Air and Resources Board, the manufacturer believed the Cybertruck 

According to Automotive News and Autoblog, a truck's gross vehicle weight rating determines its class. 

A vehicle is classified as "medium-duty" if its GVWR is between 8,501 and 10,000 pounds, which is above the "light-duty" category.

Despite the fact that Tesla has yet to disclose the Cybertruck's official weight,

we hypothesised that its stainless steel body panels would contribute to its weight.

 As with other electric vehicles, the Cybertruck's batteries contribute a substantial amount of weight

In contrast, the GVWR of the 2020 Ford F-150 ranges from 6070 to 7850 pounds, depending on the trim level.
