Should You Buy the Hyundai Palisade or Kia Telluride?

The Kia Telluride, which was just named Motor Trend SUV of the Year, is an example of how the Korean carmaker can successfully mix style and 

substance in one powerful package. The three-row SUV has gained favour with consumers as well as critics. 

The Hyundai Palisade, however, is the Telluride's internal rival. 

A luxurious value, the Palisade also performed well in MT's SOTY tests and outperformed the Ford Explorer in Consumer Reports' testing. 

Should customers pick the Palisade or the Telluride given that Hyundai and Kia are owned by the same company?

What the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride have in common

According to Car and Driver, the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride are nearly identical under the skin. 

The 291-hp V6 and 8-speed automated engines in both SUVs use the same base and drivetrain. 

All-wheel drive systems, suspension, and brakes are shared. The Kia Telluride and the Palisade both have a 5000 lb towing capacity. 

The two 3-row SUVs' weights were were determined to be within 3 pounds of one another by Car & Driver.

Motor Trend found the two to have almost identical 60-0 braking distances.  

0-60 sprints for the Palisade and Kia Telluride both take about the same amount of time: 7.1 and 7.2 seconds, respectively. 

Additionally, both SUVs have comparable choices.
