The maximum EPA-estimated rating is for the 2023 Rivian R1T Quad-Motor with the Large battery pack and 21-inch wheels.

The EPA website now officially recognises the range improvements Rivian revealed last week for the 2023 R1T and R1S EVs.

The R1T is now the longest-range electric pickup truck available for purchase in the US, according to the new EPA-estimated range rating.

A maximum EPA-estimated range of 328 miles is now available for the 2023 Rivian R1T in Quad-Motor version with the Large battery pack (527 kilometers).

This is a 14-mile (22-kilometer) improvement over the 314-mile (EPA-estimated) range of the 2022 Rivian R1T in the same configuration (505 kilometers).

The 2023 R1T with 21-inch wheels receives the updated rating; the same model with 22-inch wheels get an EPA-estimated range of 303 miles (487 kilometres),

while the rating for 20-inch wheels drops to 289 miles (465 kilometers).

The range enhancements follow an over-the-air software upgrade that also slightly increased the range of the Rivian R1S SUV for 2023,

from 321 miles (516 kilometres) to 321 miles (516 kilometres) (8 kilometers).

According to the EPA website, efficiency has also improved, with the overall MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) rating now being 73 MPGe, up from 70 MPGe previously.

The EPA estimates an annual fuel cost of $950 for the most efficient 2023 R1T.
